East Idaho Youth Club Track & Field Championships meet website

Madison High School, Rexburg (2300 University Blvd)
Meet for youth ages 7-14. Open to club athletes only. $10 entry fee per athlete. Entry deadline: June 29, 2020. Late entries accepted until June 30, 2020 for $20. No entries accepted in July. No refunds.
Age Divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14
Track Events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, 100/110m Hurdles*

Field Events: Shot Put***, Discus^, Long Jump, TurboJav^^, High Jump^^^
Athletes may enter a maximum of three events, plus the relay (if selected by their coach). Note: Many events overlap one another. Refer to the Order of Events (listed below). It may be difficult for an athlete to compete effectively if entered in overlapping events. Please choose wisely.
Must enter as part of club team (no unattached athletes permitted).
Medals for top three finishers in individual events.
Parents and athletes must accept personal responsibility to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines.  They must accept the risks of participating in a track & field meet under current conditions and agree not to hold liable the meet organizers, officials, coaches, or anyone else associated with the meet for any injury, illness, or other damages. 
They must not come if they are sick. Athletes may use their own implements or those provided by meet management. Hand sanitizer will be available, but pits and equipment will not be sanitized after every attempt. 
*7-8 ages will run over 24” hurdlettes; 9-10 27” hurdlettes; 11-12 30” hurdles; 13-14 girls 30” hurdles; 13-14 boys 33” hurdles for 110m.
***The weight of the shot is 6 lbs. for everyone except 13-14 boys. Their shot weighs 4 kg (8.8 lbs.)
^The weight of the discus is 1 kg. (2.2 lbs.) for everyone.
^^The weight of the turbo jav is 300 grams for those 10 and under; the aero jav is 450 grams for 11-12; the turbo jav is 600 grams for 13-14.
^^^To participate in the high jump, those 12 and under must have cleared 3’4” in a practice or meet previously. Those 13 and older must have cleared 3’10”. This must be verified by a coach by the registration deadline or the event entry will be rejected. These are the starting heights for this meet.

10:30 1600m (one race for girls & boys 7-10, one race for girls & boys 11-14)
10:50 110m Hurdles (13-14 boys. Hurdle height: 33”) 
10:55 100m Hurdles (13-14 girls, 11-12 girls, 11-12 boys. Hurdle height: 30”)
11:05 100m Hurdles (9-10 girls, 9-10 boys. Hurdle height: 27”)
11:10 100m Hurdles (7-8 girls, 7-8 boys. Hurdle height: 24”)
11:15 100m (girls then boys, youngest to oldest, i.e. 7-8 girls, 7-8 boys, etc.)
11:30 400m (girls then boys, youngest to oldest)
11:50 200m (girls then boys, youngest to oldest)
12:10 800m (one race for girls, one race for boys)

10:30 Long Jump (boys 7-8 on west pit, girls 7-8 on east pit)
High Jump (girls & boys 13-14. Start at 3’10”, 2” increments)

All field events participants have three attempts max, except in high jump.
Field event participants must check-in with head field official at the event site no later than 15 minutes after the event’s scheduled start time for their age group.
High jump does not stop for running events. If a high jumper is not present when called, it is recorded as a Pass.

Summer 2020

A summer track & field program for boys and girls ages 7-14 hosted at Madison Jr. High School in Rexburg. Practices are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 10:30-11:30am starting June 1, 2020.  An actual meet concludes the season Thursday, July 2, 10:30am at Madison High School if it’s safe to hold a meet.  
Former Ricks College coach Doug Stutz organizes local athletes/coaches to coach club members. The club is for beginners as well as experienced participants.
Meet competition is in the following ages groups: 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14. Selected running, jumping, and throwing events offered. Club members receive a team t-shirt to wear as the team uniform.  Registration has closed.
